EX101 is an overview of Exterior cladding including the wall surfaces using different materials and wall assemblies. Covered are Brick, Stone and Concrete cladding, the materials and basic characteristics, conditions, problems with masonry walls.  Also covered are Traditional and Synthetic Stucco, the made up of, thickness of and roblems with conventional stucco, while showing the differences in conventional and synthetic stucco and components for an EIFS test.  Wood, Hardboard, Plywood, and OSB Siding. Wood shingles and shakes, conditions for wood siding, conditions for plywood, hardboard, and OSB siding, types of wood siding and grade levels are also covered. The common problems, life expectancy, and grounding of Metal and Vinyl Siding are a part of this study. Key terms familiar to the business are included in this study.

EX102 is and introduction to  Clay, Slate, Fiber Cement Shingles, Asbestos cement siding, modern fiber-cement siding and the common problems experienced with each, when used in exterior cladding on a structure.  Insulbrick and Asphalt shingles, are covered and the common problems with insulbrick siding, common problems experienced with using them. This section also covers Wood/Soil Contact, Exposed Foundations and  Grade levels, showing common problems to look for. Also included are Soffits, Fascias, Windows, and Doors, with the location of these and the materials used, problems that may be encountered.  Key terms are also listed.
